Title: Body of Proof
One question I often get asked is what makes for a good (and memorable) drama series. I’ve always believed that the heavily character-driven shows usually stand the best chance because viewers want to identify with one or more of the characters, they want to care and get invested in that character. In addition to the characters, I also believe that the shows that have defined a generation make for the most memorable of the bunch.
In a business where people seek the fountain of youth above all else, women from all walks of life were relieved when Desperate Housewives made it cool to be in your thirties, forties and fifties. Gone were the stereotypical housewives who “obey” their husbands and were barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen.
Three years ago, Katherine Mayfair arrived on Wisteria Lane to give the neighborhood a much-needed makeover. Her character has escaped an abusive husband, dated the neighborhood hottie, spent time in a mental institution and reexamined her sexuality by entering into a lesbian relationship with an ex-stripper.
Dana Delany, who plays Katherine on the hit series, became a household name back in the ’80s when she starred in the popular drama China Beach, and has kept us entertained ever since with that captivating and charismatic personality. I had the good fortune to speak with Dana about her days on China Beach, her role on Desperate Housewives, and a cause that is very close to her heart…
It’s come to our attention that many users continue to try and post news or new photos, events, etc from this website on Dana’s Official Website. I’d like to take this time to remind you guys that Reg will never let that happen.
We, Dana-Delany.org and any of our media, content, etc do not affiliate itself with Dana’s official website. We are not welcome there, nor is news from us, media, photos, etc. Any member trying to re-post anything from us is automatically rejected by Reg. The owner of that site considers us traffic stealers and competitors. We (Rebeca and I) are not welcome at DanaDelany.com and automatically rejected every time we try and post. We do not wish to have our site content and news posted there. It is not our job to supply the owner of Dana’s Official Website with news.
If he chooses not to keep the fans up to date then that is not our business. We work hard to keep D-D strong and fan interactive, if he wishes to keep the fans in the dark then that is his choice. It influences us in no way possible and is only a pity that we are not allowed to keep the fans up to date there. We have tried to work with him and he kept us on a wild goose chase. Rebeca and I have decided to do what we’re doing without any blessing from him. Which we are very fine with.
So, just another reminder: Please do not re-post anything from Dana-Delany.org onto Dana’s Official Website. It will NOT go through. We do not post this to keep any of our news or images to ourselves, we just don’t want users to get frustrated when their posts are continually rejected or edited without permission. Even when coinciding with his site rules.

For some months, I’ve been thinking about creating some goodies and Tori always liked the idea. Lately, the more I think of it the more I want to do it, so it will happen soon.
I guess everything will be on the Multipedia page, but it’s not sure yet. But we’ll let you know where to find it.
Anyway, what will you find here? Wallpapers, banners, icons and my craziest idea of all: a calendar. I recently had to make one and I liked it, I run this idea to Tori and she liked it as well so it’s going to happen. I’ll be posting monthly each new page – yes I know it’s 21st Jan but I’ll even make a January page – and I’ll include on it DH airing days among other things. At times it will be Dana on character or just her, it will depend on how I feel about it.
Also, I might custom some layouts for Livejournal. You can check this website’s community on LJ, which was how this whole thing started and so why I think of all these as my baby. You can check it HERE.
And yes, everything will be made by me. At least so far, we’ll see if at some point we accept artwork from other artists or anything like that. If we ever agree on accepting work from others, we will make a post about it, but we do not admit anything up to now. I just want to make things clear for everyone so nobody gets confused.
Merry Christmas everyone! You’ve all been so great to Rebeca and I since the open and as promised our thank you gift is now in the forum. It IS password protected so members will have to PM either Rebeca or myself. Those who are active members already, have received a PM with the password in it. I am working on finishing re-capping Pasadena and Presidio Med. Within the New Year we’d also like to get a media site just for D-D created. Where all clips, trailers, episode promos, and more will sit and stay for member viewing. If you have any problems with the zip file then let one of us know via PM and we’ll send it alternatively.

As a thank you for being so supportive of Dana-Delany.org since it’s opening in May, Rebeca and I have decided to share a little Christmas present with you all. Aside from all of the clips I’ve already posted to YouTube, I’m going to upload the pilot and second episode of Pasadena from my own personal set of the series for the fans. Then for Dana’s birthday you’ll all get a second surprise.
The only thing I ask is that they are not re-distributed or posted anywhere else without our permission. I am planning on sending these DVDS to Dana for Christmas so then it’s her choice after that to re-distribute them.
Please check back here as Christmas draws closer. The front page will be updated with a hint to them when they’ve been added. They will be available in the forum but you need a password to reach the videos, as there are some conspicuous members who will do some things with them that they shouldn’t. Said users should be introduced to Catherine’s baseball bat.
Why am I only adding two? Because I would like to be able to get fans interested in the show, and have a bit of know for when it’s released onto DVD. Do I know when that will be, no. But it’s the best way for fans to pick up artist works and a great promotion for the show.
We’ve also added a small music player in the sidebar, there’s only four tracks on it at the moment but on is Dana herself singing Far From Home, another is the ukulele version of Somewhere Over The Rainbow from Pasadena, Do That Thing You Do by the Wonders and She by Elvis Costello. One of Dana’s favorite artists.

My good friend Megan is hard at work on the Official Timothy Hutton website, and as soon as that is open we’ll be pimping it out with love. Tim played Dana’s husband on Kidnapped and will again be joining her in Multiple Sarcasms as Gabriel, the husband to her Annie character.
Since D-D started back in May, we’ve jumped up almost 40 links on the google search for Dana. We’re now in the #4 spot! We’ve also reached a over 20,000 visitors and 59,000 gallery views! Rebeca and I would like to thank each and every one of you for visiting, we’re never imagined when starting this website for Dana that it would become such a popular hotspot fo Dana news and media and we are SO glad that it has.
We are so proud of D-D and can only hope that it continues to thrive as happily as it does. Thank you again!
This is just a little note so that none of you would get worried: in the next few hours, I am going to be doing some experiments on the gallery so that updates for me and Tori would be easier. I’ll create an album and set it to private so please, if you check the gallery and try to check the newest photos, then it is because they’re in that album.
