The show has just been renewed for a 3rd Season, with 22 episodes! And although at first it may seem not that important for some, it is as Dana has the chance to return to the show to reprise her role as Special Agent Jordan Show once more. She liked it and kind of said the door is opened for her to return, and people on the show also want her back, so it’s only matter of a good storyline to bring Agent Shaw back.
The second week of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” dipped from its record-setting debut, while continuing to boost “Castle” to new heights.
“Dancing” (22.5 million, 5.5) was down 11% this week, while “Castle” (14.5 million, 3.7) dominated 10 p.m., eased by CBS airing a “CSI: Miami” repeat and up 12% to set another series high. Two minutes of “Dancing” overrun included in this preliminary “Castle” number, yet ABC expects the show’s national rating to still be a new record.
Just saying our lady is part guilty on this too as ABC has sold this for three weeks as their biggest event of the year, and all for her… I don’t know about others but, numbers speak, a lot.
Actress Dana Delany (“Desperate Housewives”) will guest star in two episodes of “Castle,” beginning with Part 1 (entitled “Tick, Tick, Tick…”) on Monday, March 22 (10:02-11:00 p.m., ET), and concluding with Part 2 (entitled “Boom!,” airing 10:02-11:00 p.m., ET) on MONDAY, MARCH 29 on ABC.
Move over Ryan Seacrest, Dana Delany just stole your busiest actor in Hollywood title. Don’t believe us, get this. On a break from shooting her new ABC pilot BODY OF EVIDENCE in Providence, Delany took to the phones to not only promote her current guest stint on CASTLE, but her recent Desperate Housewives exit and reflect on a career that has spanned over three decades and included TV Addict favorites such as PASADENA and KIDNAPPED.
Before we get to your guest appearance on CASTLE, I first have to ask about your recent work on DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES. How surprised were you by Katherine’s journey this season?
Dana Delany: I loved this season. Just beginning with last fall when I started to unravel when Mike left me, to when Marc [Creator Marc Cherry] came to me with the idea that I would go sapphic for a while, I thought it was great material and so much fun to do. I think what Marc discovered early on that with the Katherine character, you could go through a little more odd stuff with her because she wasn’t really as iconoclastic as the other characters. Like the story-line with Robin [Julie Benz], I think it turned out delightfully sweet and heartfelt. With Katherine and Robin heading off to Paris, and yourself having signed on to a new ABC pilot, does this mean we’ve seen the last of Katherine?
It’s all sort of up in the air. Marc Cherry was great. He said, “I would love for you to have your own show so go do it and if it doesn’t work out we’ll have a place for you here.” (Continue Reading »)
I just added the promo and sneak peeks featuring Dana on the second episode of the two parter in Castle; for some reason it doesn’t embed properly so I’ll go with links.
Guess what? Another interview with the lady!
From the minute last night’s episode “Castle” kicked off, it was unlike any other. Not only is “Tick, Tick, Tick… their first two-parter, but it involved a serial killer targeting Kate Beckett and introduced the first legitimate foil for NYC’s most single-minded cop.
Dana Delany reunited with her one-time Wisteria Lane husband Nathan Fillion to play Special Agent Jordan Shaw, who was brought in to profile and find the killer. Dana is becoming ABC’s secret weapon of late — not only did she reinvigorate “Desperate Housewives” back in 2007, but she’s currently hard at work on a pilot for the network that could just land Dana her very own series on next fall’s schedule.
Somehow during this hectic schedule Dana found time to ring up PopWrap. She copped to using Nathan as her own personal radio shack, why Katherine should wind up with Robin and when 60 episodes became her TV escape clause!
So ABC has been selling for like two to three weeks the two parter episodes as the ABC event of the year, and who knew this would happen… Also add, all the reports were saying they casted Dana to help the show to improve ratings and what can I say? Our lady did it.
What a difference a strong cast makes. The spring premiere of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” (23.9 million viewers, 6.3 preliminary adults 18-49 rating) delivered its most-watched opening ever and its second-highest rated premiere among the adult demo. “Dancing” also climbed slightly compared to last year, reversing its usual erosion trend.
“Dancing” also helped give “Castle” (12.9 million, 3.6) a series high in both measurements, beating CBS’ “CSI: Miami” (10.7 million, 3.2) for the first time ever.
Sooner than usual because I’m about to go to sleep, I can’t watch the episode – again – until tomorrow anyway.
DANA DELANY TO GUEST STAR IN TWO EPISODES OF “CASTLE,” BEGINNING SUNDAY, MARCH 21 ON ABC
Reunites With Nathan Fillion from Time on “Desperate Housewives”

In the special two-part storyline, Delany plays Federal Agent Jordan Shaw, an insightful and accomplished Federal investigator who teams up with Castle & Beckett to hunt down a cunning and elusive serial killer. This will reunite her and Nathan Fillion, who played Dr. Adam Mayfair, the younger husband of Katherine Mayfair (Delany) on “Desperate Housewives.”
