Can we just name Dana the new Indie Queen, please?
Dana Delany has joined the cast of indie crime drama feature “Freelancers” from Cheetah Vision and Emmett Furla Films opposite Robert DeNiro, Curtis “50 Cent” Jacskon and Beau Garrett.
Jackson will portray the son of a murdered police officer who has succumbed to the “culture of corruption” that’s infected the force. Delany will play a woman from his past.
Film is directed by Jessy Terrero and written by L. Philippe Casseus, and produced by Mark Canton, Randall Emmett, George Furla and Jackson.
“Freelancers” is part of a 10-picture deal announced last fall that’s backed by a $200 million fund with Lionsgate releasing the films domestically. “Setup,” the first title under the deal, recently completed principal photography with Jackson, Bruce Willis and Ryan Phillippe starring.
Delany currently stars in the hit ABC series “Body of Proof.”
Turns out we have a new Dana movie out the corner! Sure, it is on tv but hey better that than nothing right? Dana lends her voice to Margaret. Here’s the press release:
Firebreather premieres Wednesday, November 24th at 7pm e/p on Cartoon Network
Firebreather, Cartoon Network’s first world premiere original CGI movie event, delivers fierce action in the clash of two worlds where monsters roam the Earth and past secrets are exposed. At the center of it all, teenager Duncan struggles to find his place as half-Kaiju and half-human. Based on the comic book series by Phil Hester and Andy Kuhn, Firebreather is directed by Peter Chung (Aeon Flux).
Background:
Based on the comic series by Phil Hester & Andy Kuhn, Firebreather is the story of Duncan Rosenblatt, the 16-year-old son of separated parents: Margaret, a typical suburban soccer mom and Belloc, a 120-foot fire-breathing Godzilla-type creature known as a Kaiju.Belloc is the ruler of the Kaiju and when war broke out 16 years ago between the humans and the powerful race of monsters, it was the relationship between Margaret and Belloc that prevented massive destruction on both sides. The Kaiju disappeared and Margaret was forced to raise her child Duncan as a single mother, providing him with as normal an environment as possible.
Even though the Kaiju are gone, the world still fears these monsters, so a government agency called MEGTAF remains in place to protect humanity against their potential return. Margaret has made a deal with the agency that includes MEGTAF agent “Blitz” Barnes keeping tabs on Duncan and Margaret.
High school is tough enough as it is, so Duncan’s temper and scaly orange skin doesn’t help him fit in. At his new school, he makes friends with outsiders Isabel and Ken and falls for the popular and stunning Jenna. But like his past schools, Duncan makes an enemy of school bully and Jenna’s ex-boyfriend, Troy.
Knowing his son is coming of age, Belloc has been searching for Duncan and wants to introduce him to the world of the Kaiju, hoping that Duncan will someday take his rightful place as his heir to the throne.
At its core, Firebreather is a story of a boy who is struggling with two different paths put before him by his parents. Duncan faces trials by fire from two worlds — in one, overcoming his father’s challenges to prepare for the Kaiju throne; in the other, coping with life in a new high school. Through all this, Duncan must strive to determine his own future.
Firebreather, Cartoon Network Studios’s first CGI movie, is directed by Peter Chung, written by Jim Krieg and executive produced by Julia Pistor.
Here is the official website for the movie, there’s trailers and clips as well as a wallpaper which is now also in our gallery.
Through a new found friendship between @delanydelicious and the Drunkboat Movie Twitter, they have graciously and not to mention EXCLUSIVELY shared the first still of Dana in the movie. As you all know the movie was done in 2007 and now is finally finding a release.
As a bonus you can DEMAND to have the movie shown in your city. While not every city that is entered will be able to have the movie released in it, I believe it will still be shown in the most demanded cities across the States and Canada!
To DEMAND your city, head on over to the DRUNKBOAT SCREENING page and click on Demand It!
It seems we finally have news about one of Dana’s movies, filmed back in 2007. It seems all those little movies she did in the past few years are getting now released, about time! And here’s the poster plus the press release of the premiere, next friday in Chicago.
DRUNKBOAT, CHICAGO, IL – Local film company Magnificent Mile Productions is pleased to debut its latest feature, DRUNKBOAT, in Chicago, the city where it was produced in conjunction with Left Bank Films. DRUNKBOAT is a coming of age story written and directed by Bob Meyer and starring John Malkovich, John Goodman, Dana Delany and Jacob Zachar, and will make its international premiere at the Chicago International Film Festival. The World Premiere screening will take place October 8, 2010 at 8:00 PM at the festival.
The film takes viewers on an emotional journey as it tells the story of a young teenager, Abe (Jacob Zachar) who manipulates his unsuspecting alcoholic uncle (John Malkovich) to help him buy a boat (a Drunkboat) from a con man named Mr. Fletcher (John Goodman) when his mother Eileen (Dana Delany) is out of town. The story resonates with the struggle of Uncle Mort, making the story much deeper than a simple tale of a boy and his boat. Both the uncle and Abe come of age in the story.
Not only is the film premiering at the Chicago International Film Festival, it is also a contender in the International Feature Film Competition this year. The film also has ties to Chicago via John Malkovich, Bob Meyer, Jacob Zachar and several others among the cast and crew, making it a part of the Illinois(e)makers list, along with fellow Illinois(e)makers The Defiled, Go For It!, Louder Than a Bomb, Polish Bar and Tony & Janina’s American Wedding.
Several of the cast and crew will be in attendance at the festival and will be booking interviews. International distribution is being handled by 7 Arts Pictures. You can find out more about the film on the official site at http://drunkboat.com/, on the Facebook Page, on Twitter as @drunkboatmovie or by contacting either Leslie Poston or Amy Greenlaw of Film POP! at email drunkboat@filmpop.tv.

We were very lucky to get to sit and watch the ABC Upfronts today, we watched promotional footage for all of the new ABC shows including Dana’s Body of Proof. Above is the official trailer for the show as well as two sneak peeks released to the outlets.
I posted part of this interview already, but here’s the full one.
Playing a woman with marital turmoil is familiar territory for Emmy-winning actress Dana Delany. On the TV series “Desperate Housewives,” she was Katherine Mayfair, who had her share of drama and surprises in her love life. In the independent dramedy film “Multiple Sarcasms” (set in New York City in 1979), Delany is a wife and mother named Annie Richmond, who is also dealing with an unsteady marriage, but her marital problems are more subtle than what viewers might see on “Desperate Housewives.”
Annie’s husband, Gabriel (played by Timothy Hutton), is an architect facing a mid-life crisis as he works on a semi-autobiographical play. As Gabriel tries to avoid his day job as much as possible, working on his play makes him realize his true feelings for wife and his best friend, Cari (played by Mira Sorvino), and how those feelings might affect their relationships with each other and with Gabriel and Annie’s only child, Elizabeth (played by India Ennenga). At the New York City press junket for “Multiple Sarcasms,” I sat down with Delany, who talked about her recent roles that explore marital difficulties, what she thinks of the real-life scandalous “Desperate Housewives” lawsuit, and what she would be doing with her ife if she weren’t an actress.
