If Dana Delany is suddenly the busiest actress in Hollywood (or at least Wisteria Lane) you might blame it on her pal, “Castle” star Nathan Fillion.
Fillion, who played Delany’s husband on “Desperate Housewives,” drafted his former Emmy date Delaney to co-star as an FBI agent on “Castle.” This appearance on the popular ABC show has only led to even more opportunities.
“I blame it all on Nathan,” Delany told Popcornbiz of the her two-part “Castle” turn which completes tonight and the life-changing gigs that that have followed.
First there was the “Castle” appearance. “He called me in December and asked me to come on,” she says. “I was surprised because I thought I already had a job.”
ABC was happy to have the “Desperate Housewives” star appear on “Castle.” as a guest. “And when they saw the dailies from ‘Castle,’ they decided I’d be good in this new show we have,” says Delaney.
So now she’s shooting a pilot, “Body of Evidence” in Rhode Island where she plays a medical examiner. Her disappearance from “Desperate Housewives” has been explained by a trip to Paris.
If the “Evidence” pilot is picked up in May: “Then I’ll have a new job,” says Delany. “If not, I’ll be back in Wisteria Lane.”
Delany will join her “Desperate” castmates on April 7 for a “Child Hunger Ends Here” rally which she is organizing on the famous television set. The busiest star will be packing food bags for hungry kids and encouraging others to do the same.
“I’m a little busy these days,” she laughed. “I could actually use a little vacation.”
So I randomly decided to do some of my little digging and you see, our beloved lady will be very busy in Utah starting next week on Friday. So let’s say our lady will be like a little invasion on Utah all those days. Anyway, let’s go straight to the point: when and where. And considering Dana’s the co-president I bet you she’ll be in almost all of them if not all.

Moderated by MSNBC’s LAWRENCE O’DONNELL JR., luncheon with actors and Co-Presidents of The Creative Coalition DANA DELANY and TIM DALY who are reunited with teachers who made a difference in their lives.
Sponsored by ING. With gracious support from Conair, Easy Street,
Last night Dana attended the New York Stage & Film’s Annual Gala, and I realdy bet both dress and matching purse are Prada. Those photos are now in our gallery but also, I added more from The Creative Coalition’s The Fifty Dinner event from last week! Most of the photos I added to this event, are HQ.
Thanks to our friends over at Margamania, we were sent a link to a thoughtful letter that Dana wrote (I’m thinking it was maybe this week, somebody please correct me if I’m wrong.) about her father and his battle with pancreatic cancer, and how she’s continuing to support finding a cure for the cause and raising awareness about it.
Here’s a snippet, and you can read the full letter at PanCan.org
Dear friend –
As an actor, I’ve played everything from a wartime nurse to a desperate housewife. But one of the most meaningful roles of my life has nothing to do with acting. It’s my role as the daughter of the late Jack Delany. My dad was a man of many interests- business, skiing, architecture, dancing and silly jokes. But most of all, movies- my best memories are of sitting in the theater next to my dad. I am an actor because of my father.
Like too many other people, my father was gone way too soon. He was only 56 when he died of pancreatic cancer on March 18th, 1981. I was 25 when I lost the most favorite man of my life. I did what he would want me to do—I studied hard, followed my dream to be an actor, and have honored his memory every day since.
Last year, when I saw Patrick Swayze speak so eloquently at the ground breaking Stand Up to Cancer event about his heroic battle against pancreatic cancer, I saw my father. They were the same age. When my dad was diagnosed 29 years ago, he was given only 3 months to live because there were few effective treatments available. How is it possible that there are still no early detection methods or diagnostic tests? How is it possible that successful treatment is still very limited for this devastating form of cancer?
Patrick reminded me that we haven’t made enough progress on finding a cure for pancreatic cancer. Unlike so many of the other leading cancer killers—breast, colon or prostate— we have made very few medical advances that could have led to early detection methods, improved treatments and better odds of survival. That’s because pancreatic cancer is not only the 4th leading cause of cancer death in the U.S., but also the most overlooked and ignored disease of the top five leading cancer killers.
We haven’t made enough progress because people don’t often think about pancreatic cancer until it happens to them, a friend, a high-profile person, or a loved one. We need more people to know about pancreatic cancer, so we can fight it and end it. That starts with all of us speaking out, advocating for more research, and doing whatever we can to provide real hope to patients and their families.
That’s where you and I can make a difference. November is National Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month. I’ve joined with the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network to help people know about pancreatic cancer, learn how to fight it and advocate for the research that we need to end it. This organization represents an incredible community of people that includes: survivors, caregivers, researchers, advocates and volunteers. Many people know the power that one unified voice can make. We can all make significant progress together, by raising awareness and inspiring more national support.
You can also read the rest of the letter by clicking below, but it felt better for me to read it on the pancan website. I’m sure you’ll feel the same.
Okay, lack of original title, I am aware of it but what do you expect at 4.25 am as I type this? Anyway, I just finished a big gallery update with over 450 photos from the latest events Dana’s attended. Also, this update’s especially for our other webmiss, Tori, becaue she’s had a hard day today and I know she’d like this

Actress Dana Delany stopped by to talk about her role as Katherine Mayfair in Desperate Housewives and tonight’s Scleroderma Foundation event.
The Scleroderma Foundation is the leading non-profit supporter of scleroderma research in the United States, allotting more than $1 million annually to find the cause of and cure for scleroderma. Delany will host their annual event tonight at Caroline’s Comedy Club. In 1996, Delany stared in the ABC movie For Hope, which was about scleroderma and directed by Bob Saget, whose sister Gay died from the disease.
Scleroderma, or systemic sclerosis, is a chronic connective tissue disease generally classified as one of the autoimmune rheumatic diseases. The name for the disease comes from the two Greek words: “sclero” meaning hard, and “derma” meaning skin. Hardening of the skin is one of the most visible manifestations of the disease.

Desperate Housewives airs Sundays at 9pm on ABC.
Thanks to LittleMissMayfair for the heads up!
