s pulling out all the stops to launch its 13th season with its benefit galaTwo Oscar winners and a famous “bartender” have joined the list of celebrities who will appear during a Jan. 30 benefit for the Ojai Playwrights Conference.
Sally Field, who earned Academy Awards for “Norma Rae” and “Places in the Heart,” will be joined by Mary Steenburgen, best supporting actress for “Melvin and Howard,” during the one-night-only show on the Matilija Auditorium stage.
Also performing will be Ted Danson, who played philandering bartender Sam Malone for 11 seasons on the sitcom “Cheers.” Danson is now featured on the HBO series “Bored to Death” and has a home in Ojai with wife Steenburgen.
The couple have never participated in the annual fundraiser. Field last joined the cast in 2008.
The performance this year will feature excerpts of plays written by the four-time Tony Award winning playwright Terrence McNally, who will be in attendance.
Also appearing will be “Grey’s Anatomy” star Sandra Oh, who earned an Oscar nomination for her role in “Sideways”; John Glover, who played Lionel Luthor on the TV series “Smallville,” and Amanda McBroom, the Ojai-based songwriter (“The Rose”) and actress-playwright (“Lady Macbeth Sings the Blues”).
They join a previously announced cast list that includes Dana Delany (“Desperate Housewives”), Noah Wyle (“ER”), Jane Kaczmarek (“Malcolm in the Middle”), Steven Weber (“Wings”) and Zachary Quinto, who played young Spock in this summer’s “Star Trek” movie.
Tickets are $70 and $85 for the show, titled “Hearts on Fire.”

Merry Christmas everyone! You’ve all been so great to Rebeca and I since the open and as promised our thank you gift is now in the forum. It IS password protected so members will have to PM either Rebeca or myself. Those who are active members already, have received a PM with the password in it. Please remember to keep it to yourself, as those who direly want it can just contact us. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, hoping that you have the best time with your families and have a joyous New Year.
I am working on finishing re-capping Pasadena and Presidio Med. Within the New Year we’d also like to get a media site just for D-D created. Where all clips, trailers, episode promos, and more will sit and stay for member viewing. If you have any problems with the zip file then let one of us know via PM and we’ll send it alternatively.
Lots of love guys! xoxo
According to the twitter feed of @moremag – More Magazine Dana is slated to appear as luncheon keynote at More Magazine’s Chicago Reinvention Convention on 5/17. http://bit.ly/5vw0rlAccor
We never mentioned having our own Twitter account for the website, yet if you look on the left sidebar, you’ll see the box for the newest tweets that either Tori or I do. We sign them as either -T or -R, so that everyone will know who is the one tweeting. Anyway, we had a layout which was made with the old forum’s header I made. But not anymore! I just made a new one and I’m quite proud of it! It’s purple and I used one of my favourite photos of Dana, at least coming from a photoshoot. I call it the Grape Soda Edition just to follow Dana’s joke about her dress at the Emmy’s, as after all the colour is the same or almost.
So check it out, leave your thoughts, if you have any, and of course follow us @delanydelicious
Dana Delany, co president of the Creative Coalition, arrives first and tells me that there are three upcoming deaths on Desperate Housewives, including a main character.
Who is it?
“It’s not me,” she adds.
Eva Longoria Parker arrives at 7:30 and dashes across the carpet—perhaps trying to avoid the frigid temps. When I run into her inside, she agrees to answer questions “as long as it’s not about lip gloss or diet.” She tells me she’s not getting killed off the show either, so Gabrielle fans can breathe easy.
“It’s not me, so that’s important!” she adds. She also tells me she’ll spend the holidays in Texas.
Last night Dana attended the New York Stage & Film’s Annual Gala, and I realdy bet both dress and matching purse are Prada. Those photos are now in our gallery but also, I added more from The Creative Coalition’s The Fifty Dinner event from last week! Most of the photos I added to this event, are HQ.
Welcome to the new homepage for Dana Delicious. Rebeca and I hope you all enjoy it just like we do, it’s stunning. A major thanks to our friend Fram over at http://mrsbrightside.com/ for the design.
Merry Early Christmas. ♥
As a thank you for being so supportive of Dana-Delany.org since it’s opening in May, Rebeca and I have decided to share a little Christmas present with you all. Aside from all of the clips I’ve already posted to YouTube, I’m going to upload the pilot and second episode of Pasadena from my own personal set of the series for the fans. Then for Dana’s birthday you’ll all get a second surprise.
The only thing I ask is that they are not re-distributed or posted anywhere else without our permission. I am planning on sending these DVDS to Dana for Christmas so then it’s her choice after that to re-distribute them.
Please check back here as Christmas draws closer. The front page will be updated with a hint to them when they’ve been added. They will be available in the forum but you need a password to reach the videos, as there are some conspicuous members who will do some things with them that they shouldn’t. Said users should be introduced to Catherine’s baseball bat.
Why am I only adding two? Because I would like to be able to get fans interested in the show, and have a bit of know for when it’s released onto DVD. Do I know when that will be, no. But it’s the best way for fans to pick up artist works and a great promotion for the show.
We’ve also added a small music player in the sidebar, there’s only four tracks on it at the moment but on is Dana herself singing Far From Home, another is the ukulele version of Somewhere Over The Rainbow from Pasadena, Do That Thing You Do by the Wonders and She by Elvis Costello. One of Dana’s favorite artists.
And here are the photos of the event Dana attended last night! Sadly the HQs don’t feel like uploading today so I’ll add them tomorrow. Also, her co-star Eva Longoria Parker attended the event too and I can’t help it: I find them quite cute together like they posed for photos, Eva playing a little with Dana’s scarf too.
