6.16 The Chase HQ Promos
|
|
They just got out, and we have 3 promos of Dana/Katherine. My favourite has to be the first one, in her bed, with that shocking face. It just cracks me up even if the best overall for me is the second in green, such a cutie.

Dana Delany: I Do More Than Just Kiss Julie Benz on Desperate Housewives
|
|
Dana Delany and Julie Benz aren’t just sharing a smooch on Desperate Housewives.
If you haven’t heard by now, the former Dexter star is currently guesting on the ABC series as Robin, a lesbian stripper who gets mighty close to Katherine (Delany).
We’ll see them not only lock lips, but…
“This is the first time on Wisteria Lane that you’ll see two women doing more than just kissing,” Delany told us at this weekend’s StandUp for Kids/Los Angeles at the G2 Gallery in Venice. “We’re taking things to the next level. I get to do it. I’m very honored.”
Describing their first smooch as a “long kiss” rather than just a peck, Delany said she has absolutely no problem with engaging in some girl-on-girl action. “It’s fun,” she said. “I’ve worked with Julie before. We have so much fun!”
However, all this same-sex lovin’ still doesn’t mean we’ll all of a sudden be seeing Wisteria Lane’s resident gay couple, played by Tuc Watkins and Kevin Rahm, popping up in more, well, intimate settings.
“Our country is so conservative that it would be interesting to see how people would respond if we had a real Queer As Folk heavy-duty gay storyline,” James Denton said. “I’m not sure that anybody wants to risk it. We’re not making independent film and we’re not on Showtime, so there are certain parameters that we have that other shows don’t, for better or worse.”
That’s not all we have for you from Desperate Housewives. Make sure to come back here for scoop about one of the show’s stars and another prime-time soap.

If I were you, I wouldn’t check the source for the angry comments between homophobes and pro gay rights, I’m with the second gang anyway, but some of the comments even about Dana’s life choices are really upsetting. That she decided to go for this storyline means nothing in her personal life, sadly people will never see the difference between the actor and the character. That, and spell her last name correctly.

Julie Benz on Kissing Dana on ‘Desperate Housewives’: ‘Great Kisser!’
|
|
This can very well be the case of making a mountain out of a molehill, but Desperate Housewives is sure milking this upcoming girl-to-girl kiss for what it’s worth. For her part, Dexter grad Julie Benz tells X17online that she enjoyed kissing Dana Delany, who plays Katherine on the show.
“Dana’s a great kisser,” she says. “Joining the cast of Desperate Housewives has been nothing short of amazing. The girls are all so fun to work with and have welcomed me with open arms. I’m so thrilled that there is such a buzz about my character’s relationship with Dana’s. It’s really beautiful and was so fun to shoot.”
Benz joined Desperate Housewives for what could be a multi-episode arc as a stripper who wants a new job, sort of. Susan (Teri Hatcher) took her under her wing, and even hooked her up with a teaching assistant job in her school. That didn’t last long, however, since a parent (and rich donor) apparently recognized her from the strip club.
Will the girl-to-girl kiss be a major plot twist on Desperate Housewives? Don’t count on it, as Benz previously described to TV Guide the circumstances behind the kiss, aka, stunt sweeps.
“This kiss comes out of a funny moment where we’re trying to ditch some guys. I asked, ‘Am I becoming a man?’ And Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry said, ‘Close.’”
From that, it’s easy to conclude that it will most probably be just a disparate scene with possibly no connection to anything else.
Desperate Housewives returns February 21.

This just in: Julie Benz gets close with Dana Delany on Desperate Housewives
|
|
I know, I know this is a Julie Benz interview but she talks about Dana and Katherine’s upcoming storyline so I think it’s interesting to post. Do not read if you don’t want to find out about what happens on the show until the episodes air! I’ll only post the parts that are intersted for us and a link for those of you who want to read it fully.
Her latest role, as of last week’s episode of Desperate Housewives is as a stripper named Robin who befriends Susan (Teri Hatcher) before quitting her job and moving in with her. We found out this week that Benz’s character is a lesbian who will fall for Katherine Mayfair (played by Dana Delany). As of now, Benz isn’t sure how much longer Robin will be around Wisteria Lane, but she’s hoping it’ll be for more than just one kiss. [...]
AE: So is Robin a lesbian? Is that how she would identify herself?
JB: Yes.
AE: What about Katherine? Is that going to be something difficult for her as a straight woman to think of herself as bisexual? Is she confused?
JB: I don’t know a whole lot about the storyline, but from what I do know, it is going to be a part of Katherine’s journey to figure out. “What is this?” Katherine has had quite a history of dating men that haven’t turned out to be very good for her. I think the question you have to ask yourself in real life is, if you connect with somebody, why let gender, religion or race get in the way. I think that’s the struggle, the challenge that she has.
AE: Desperate Housewives has previously had a lesbian kiss and people thought it was a ratings stunt. Do you think this will be different because there will be a relationship developing out of it?
JB: Yeah it is different because there is a relationship developing out of it.

Dana Delany Storming “Castle”
|
|
And here I go again with more Castle news. If I hated this show, and I don’t because I love it and Nathan is just awesome there, I’d be very tired of this hahaha. Now why people forget about Dana and Nathan on Pasadena?! I miss Catherine and Glenn in times like this.
Actress Dana Delany (“Desperate Housewives”) will guest star in two episodes of “Castle” airing Sunday, March 21 and Monday, March 22 (both nights 10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on ABC. This will reunite Delany and Nathan Fillion, who played Dr. Adam Mayfair, the younger husband of Katherine Mayfair (Delany) on “Desperate Housewives.”In the special two-part storyline, Delany will play Federal Agent Jordan Shaw — an insightful and accomplished Federal Investigator who teams with Richard Castle and Detective Beckett to hunt down a cunning and elusive serial killer.
“We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to work with such a talented and versatile actress as Dana, and we’re grateful to Marc Cherry and our partners at ABC for helping to make this happen,” said “Castle” Creator/Executive Producer Andrew Marlowe. “She and Nathan were so great together on ‘Desperate Housewives,’ we’re all excited to see them together again.”
Starring in the series are Nathan Fillion as Richard Castle, Stana Katic as NYPD Detective Kate Beckett, Ruben Santiago-Hudson as NYPD Captain Roy Montgomery, Tamala Jones as Medical Examiner Lanie Parish, Jon Huertas as NYPD Detective Javier Esposito, Seamus Dever as NYPD Detective Kevin Ryan, Susan Sullivan as Martha Rodgers, and Molly Quinn as Alexis Castle.

Kissing Housewives
|
|

Desperate Housewives offers a girl-girl liplock in March between cuckoo Katherine (Dana Delany) and Susan’s stripper friend, Robin, played by Dexter’s Julie Benz. “Everyone assumed I was going to come in and break up someone’s marriage, but there’s a whole different twist,” says Julie, who appreciates Dana smelling “very pretty” and not having facial hair like her last on-screen lover, Michael C. Hall.
“This kiss comes out of a funny moment where we’re trying to ditch some guys,” says Julie. But something very real develops, which is exciting for Dana. “I guessed it,” she says. “I asked, ‘Am I becoming a man?’ And [creator] Marc Cherry said, ‘Close.’” Dana compares Katherine’s realization to recently un-closeted actress Meredith Baxter. “For a woman in her fifties to make this announcement to her community is huge,” says Dana. “I hope it sticks.”
Julie and Dana became friends years ago when they costarred in a failed “Scarface”-type TV pilot. So how long will these naughty girls play house? “I’m now up to four episodes, but they have an option for more,” says Julie. “I’m bribing the writers with cupcakes.”

Dear DH writers: please keep Julie! Robin seems really nice and sweet and if it’s for her why Katherine really finds out who she is? Well let her be on the show! I know Tori’s with me on this.
